This week’s Grandpa’s Corner comes from one of the stories in Little Adventures, Big Lessons.
The children loved visiting their grandparents’ house. One of their favorite places was the backyard. There were small trees, colorful flowers in pots, and even a little vegetable garden. There was always something interesting to discover.
One warm weekend, the whole family came to visit. As soon as the children arrived, they ran straight to Grandpa.
“Grandpa! Can we go to the backyard?” Ree asked excitedly.
“We want to explore!” Ella added.
Grandpa smiled. “Of course,” he replied. “But first — does everyone have their shoes on?”
“Yes!” the children shouted.
The little lesson: Curiosity helps us discover the wonders around us. Nature is full of amazing things when we take time to look closely.
Grandpa’s Corner: The world is filled with small wonders waiting to be discovered. When we stay curious and explore together, every day can become a new adventure.
Try this at home: Give each child a jar or a paper bag and ten minutes outside. Ask them to bring back three things: something smooth, something colorful, and something they have never noticed before.
What did the explorers find? The rest of the story is in Little Adventures, Big Lessons.
